Well… since my body is not completely fit, I’ll limit the bare nakedness to just my face. If you follow me on twitter you’d already know that I’ve been wanting to take more care of my skin and investing more on my skin care products rather than make up since I’m aiming to achieve a flawless (or close to it) skin.
It’s no secret and I fell like it should be common knowledge that the better the canvas the better the painting, right? well this is true. There is nothing that look prettier than a foundation that sits beautifully on perfectly smooth skin. I know I know, it is hard to get and sometimes as years go by and we grow older we are left with scaring from our teenage breakouts and pigmentation from being exposed in the sun. Well ladies, is time to work on those!
I’ve been studying my behavior for a while to know what is breaking me out from now and then AND why my skin feels heavy and clogged sometimes. After a while I noticed that i touched my face with my dirty dirty hands A LOT and that my face wash was to thick for my skin and not removing all the makeup. Also the inevitable period (I hate it so much) that happens monthly gets those hormones going and break me out. so I figure that the better prepared was the quicker those bad boys will go.
As I did my research I noticed I was skipping a good lot of steps and it was mainly because I didn’t really know what was what and when to use them. So here is what I found out I should be using:
FACE WASH: is to remove deeper seated debris and also cleanse pores, thanks to its foaming action. If you’re wearing a lot of makeup, or have been exposed to a lot of dust and pollution, it might be a good idea to use a cleanser first, before using a face wash.
CLEANSER: is a facial care product that is used to remove make-up, dead skin cells, oil, dirt, and other types of pollutants from the skin of the face. This helps to unclog pores and prevent skin conditions such as acne.
TONER: In cosmetics, skin toner or simply toner refers to a lotion or wash designed to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores, usually used on the face. Toners can be applied to the skin in different ways: On damp cotton wool. (This is the most frequently used method.)
FACIAL SCRUB: can make your skin feel beautiful, youthful, soft, and glowing. Unlike a regular soap or cleanser, a facial scrub uses small particles, beads, or chemicals to get rid of the old skin cells and make way for new ones in a process known as exfoliation.
MOISTURIZER: For oily skin, moisturizers can still be useful after activities causing skin dryness, such as other skin care products and washing. For oily skin, water-based moisturizers that are specifically non-comedogenic are preferable, as there is less risk of comedo formation.
